Need a Plumber in France and Don’t Speak French? Here’s What to Do

A leak, a blocked drain, a boiler that’s stopped working, these don’t wait for a convenient time, and finding someone who’ll actually pick up the phone, understand the problem, and come out on short notice is hard enough in French. In English, most tradespeople simply won’t take the call.

What we do

We call around, explain the problem in French, and find someone available, including outside normal hours, when we can. We stay on the line to describe what’s wrong so nothing gets lost in translation, and we confirm the appointment time back to you directly.

This kind of request can take longer than a standard call, since it sometimes means contacting more than one tradesperson before finding availability. We’ll tell you what to expect before any time is deducted.

How it works

  1. Tell us the problem and where you are.

  2. We call around and find someone who can come.

  3. You get a confirmed time, and we’ve already explained the issue, so you don’t have to.

FAQ

Do you come to the property?

No, we work entirely by phone and message. This lets us cover the whole of France, not just one city, and respond quickly.

What if it’s a genuine emergency, gas, electrical, water damage?

For anything dangerous, contact emergency services first. We’re for the situation right after that: finding and briefing the right tradesperson to actually fix it.

Can you get a quote before someone comes out?

We’ll ask, but many tradespeople in France quote once they see the job in person. We make that clear before you agree to the visit.
